Those of you who have taken a meal with me have probably heard me lament that if there is a bone or shell in the food that we are eating, I will be the one to bite into it. Well I have a new lament. No matter how carefully I pick over my lentils before cooking them. I find a tiny rock...my teeth hurt now :_( |

All three of my fish died within 24 hours of each other. I took the water to have it tested and the people at the pet store said it was fine, I showed them the fish and they could find no reason why they died :(
I give up on keeping fish, I can't seem to keep the damn things alive for more than 30 days. I cleaned out the tank and put it into storage. |

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to introduce my new cat to my old cat in such a way that the old cat does not immediately attempt to claw the new one to death? I've tried putting him in a cage and letting her see him. She stops hissing and seems fine. But if I open the door to the cage she flips out. Thanks. |

Here is the picture I promised of the new kitty. His name is Remington (he came from the shelter with that name), but I think we're just gonna call him Remy. He's a high class cat, just like Remy Martin :P

We got ourselves a new kitty! He's just the sweetest thing. I saw him at the pet store (A shelter was there asking people to adopt, I don't get prissy pet store pets :P) and just fell in love. I couldn't leave him there. Pictures to follow! |

Sorry for the quietness. I've been a busy kit!
Looking forward to a day trip out to bend with Jay. We've been taking more day trips since it's really expensive to fly from here and we only go to place we can drive to. Like Portland, Bend, Seattle. We got as far as Sisters last time, it's a cool old frontier town with a tasty candy shop. This time we'll make it all the way there, hopefully :P |

Thank you everyone for your kind words of support. Here's an update. My mother is recovering pretty well. She can do stuff for short periods of time. Even though she tells me she's ok and just needs a rest I can tell she's having a hard go of it.
A bit of bad news, she's still having chest pains so we're taking her back in to the doc tomorrow. I'm hoping that it's something that can be sorted out with medication and not more surgery. I'll keep everyone posted.

I have recently recieved some bad news. I'm afraid I will not be able to attend FC. My mother was just taken to the hospital with heart problems and the doctors are afraid she will need a bypass. I cannot be away during this time. I hope that everyone can make alternate rooming arrangements. Forgive me for dropping this on you all a week before the con. |

So, here I am sitting in oregon. It's so different from California that it's like an entirely different world. I really like it here though. It's nice and wildernessy and so un-city-like. I really think i'm gonna like living here. Oh, and the casinos here? Actual dice, no stupid card craps. |

So, I was playing around on Travelocity.com and I located (purely by accident) a great fare to fly up to Oregon for new years to visit Jay. So I get to see my new home in person for the first time. I'm superly excited to do so. I've never been to Oregon. |

Hey all! Most recent news from the kitty is this. Jay and I are getting along really well, to the point where we're talking about moving in together. After some serious discussion on the subject we decided that since he owns a house and has a much better job than mine, it would be best for me to move there. So towards the end of 2008 I'll be making the trek north.
As such, I'll be looking forward to seeing everyone at FC coming up as it's probably the last time I'll be traveling to a con for a while. I need to really cut down on my traveling to save up some money in order to move. I'm not gonna go into hermit mode, but I probably won't be traveling far from home until I make the trip to Oregon. |

It's the end of an era! I learned the most distressing news over the weekend. The Beautiful Monarch of the Seas will no longer be with us. As of Oct 08 she will sail for Florida to resume the 3-night and 4 night Bahamas cruises. As far as I know, they have not tasked a ship to resume the 3 and four night cruises, however Mariner of the Seas is coming over to do the 7-night. Even with this new Voyager Class Vessel, I will miss the old girl. Godspeed Monarch, and may your travels always be glorious.
PS. Congratulations to Captain Teo Strazic (sp). He'll now command the Independence of the Seas. |
